We were waiting for it and it arrived. We are talking about the new TUDOR Black Bay 58 GMT. This new model, entirely conceived to recall the golden age of transoceanic air travel, embodies the meeting between the brand's heritage and the avant-garde of TUDOR manufacturing materials and movements.

The aesthetics of the Black Bay 58 GMT is a tribute to the glorious past of the watchmaker. The bezel, in warm shades of burgundy, black and gold, recalls the atmosphere of the 50s, an era of glamor and refinement in commercial aviation. The 39 mm case pleases everyone who was waiting for a GMT for the now iconic BlackBay58.

BORN IN 1958

The name "Black Bay 58” is not accidental; refers to the year in which TUDOR launched its first diving watch waterproof to 200 meters, the reference 7924, commonly known as the “Big Crown”. This new model inherits the legacy of that reference, with a case that maintains the classic proportions of the 50s, creating a perfect balance between tradition and modernity.

The dial of the Black Bay 58 GMT is inspired by the glory days of the first TUDOR diving watches from the 50s, with the iconic “Snowflake” shaped hands lending a touch of vintage authenticity.

With a matte black colour, it has a slightly sunburst satin finish with golden details, and is slightly curved. The hands have the iconic “Snowflake” shape, a hallmark of TUDOR diving watches since 1969, with Swiss Super‑LumiNova® Grade A luminescent coating.

The bidirectional rotating bezel of the Black Bay 58 GMT is not only functional, but also offers optimal grip thanks to its carefully designed details. Its disc features slightly rounded numbers aligned with the contour of the outer ring, ensuring excellent readability

NP24 – Watches and Wonders 2024 – 2024

The three-link riveted bracelet of the Black Bay 58 GMT is a tribute to the iconic models that TUDOR produced in the 50s and 60s. Obviously this element has been updated, combining full mesh with laser details that recall the historic rivets. The TUDOR “T-fit” clasp is a clever addition, allowing for quick adjustment of the bracelet length without the use of tools, thanks to five pre-defined positions. This innovative system offers maximum comfort and precision, allowing the user to customize the bracelet length up to a maximum of 8 mm.

The real strength of the Black Bay 58 GMT is its Manufacture Caliber MT5450-U. This cutting-edge movement not only offers impeccable performance in terms of precision and reliability, but is also designed to stand the test of time. With a battery life of around 65 hours, it's more than enough to get you through a weekend without having to recharge.

The new Black Bay 58 GMT marks an important milestone for TUDOR, as it joins the prestigious list of models that have passed the rigorous testing protocol to obtain the Master Chronometer certification. This represents a significant step towards the future, reflecting the brand's relentless commitment to constantly improve the quality of its products.

Il Black Bay 58 GMT is also available with a black rubber strap that can be cut to size. Offered in three initial sizes, it features the TUDOR “T-fit” closure to adapt to the wearer's wrist.
