Just two years after its debut, A. Lange & Söhne presents the new LANGE 1 PERPETUAL CALENDAR in a “Darth Vader” configuration, full of charm thanks to the union between the 950 platinum of the case and the black color of the dial. This new version enriches the collection with a new and prestigious material.
The LANGE 1 Perpetual Calendar takes advantage of the technical solutions first introduced in 2012 with the Lange Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar, implementing the month indication with a ring on the periphery of the dial that advances once a month.
This innovation was technically challenging because advancing this ring at the end of the month requires significantly more power than traditional solutions. The ring-shaped month display is complemented by the large Lange date, the retrograde day of the week display on the left side and the leap year display at 6 o'clock.
The new Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar in Platinum 950
The new Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar It comes with a 950 platinum case with a diameter of 41,9 mm and a black dial. As per tradition, although the indications of the perpetual calendar are usually difficult to read, A. Lange & Söhne he can communicate them with a quick glance. The dial is elegant and uncluttered, providing an ideal backdrop for the moon phase disc with its integrated day/night indicator.
You can see how not only the dial has been dyed black but also the numbers Great Date andleap year indication, giving a play of depth and three-dimensionality to the dial.
The addition of the indication day / night the indication of the moon phases reflects the ambition of constructive precision. First created in 2016 in MOON PHASE LANGE 1, the Earth's satellite is facing a blue sky during the day and a cdark blue starry sky in the evening, thus indicating the hours of day and night respectively. Built on two levels, it consists of a disk of solid gold sky with a blue tint that rotates around its axis once every 24 hours.
The month ring serves as a frame for all the indications on the black dial. The Big Date digits and the leap year indication are also displayed on a black background. All displays of the perpetual calendar advance by jumping exactly and are therefore always perfectly legible. It is possible to advance them together or individually using correctors. Once set correctly, the mechanism is programmed to reliably indicate each passage of the month until the year 2100.
