Omega has just announced his role as the official timekeeper of the 36th America's Cup which will be held ad Aucklandin New Zealand, from 6 to 21 March 2021 and will see the Defender Emirates Team New Zealand "Run" against the winner of the Prada Cup, Challenger Selection Series. This will be the third time in history that OMEGA it will play its fundamental role in the prestigious sailing regatta.
The moment will also offer another opportunity to OMEGA, to celebrate its longstanding partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand. This special relationship began with the legendary sailor Sir Peter Blake in 1995 and has continued ever since. To celebrate this event, the OMEGA brand presented the new Seamaster Planet Ocean 36th America's Cup Limited Edition.
The new limited edition watch is based on the classic Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m. It comes in a 43.50mm stainless steel case and features a blue ceramic diving bezel, incorporating white and red liquid ceramic to create a 5-minute countdown suitable for racing. It is water resistant up to 600m or 2000ft. The glossy white ceramic dial is highlighted with blue and red touches. Presents the name of the competition at 6 o'clock. The counterweight of the central second hand is shaped like the "Auld Mug", The logo ofAmerica’s Cup.
The display case back is also decorated with the competition logo and offers a view of the caliber OMEGA Master Chronometer 8900. The self-winding double-barreled movement is regulated by a coaxial escapement with free-spring balance wheel and silicon balance spring. Operating at 25.200 vibrations per hour, it has an autonomy of 60 hours when fully charged. The Master Chronometer certified and approved by GOALS, is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15.000 gauss.
The new OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 36th America's Cup Limited Edition it is struck by a blue textured rubber strap with red edging and white stitching and is secured to the wrist by a steel folding clasp. This limited edition of 2.021 specimens is sold at the price of 6.600 EURO.
