During the last weekend of May, from 24th to 26th, the 90th edition of the exclusive Concorso d'eleganza Villa D'Este was held on the shores of Lake Como. A special review this year, which under the motto "Symphony of Motors”Celebrated not only 90 years of this fascinating event but also 90 years of BMW in automobile manufacturing.

Over the course of the three days, immersed in the beautiful frames of Villa d'Este e Villa Erba in that of Cernobbio, we could also admire the latest arrivals from home A. Lange & Söhne. The maison of Glassworks in fact, it plays the role of main partner of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa D'Este.

But let's start with the protagonists of this event, the vintage cars and historic motorcycles. Between the two wheels the Koehler-Escoffier that has conquered the BMW Trophy and BMW R 68 which won the favor of the public by winning the Villa Erba Trophy.

This year's exhibition saw the triumph ofAlfa Romeo 8C 2900B. The beauty, elegance and uniqueness of this car agreed both the public and the jury led by president Lorenzo Ramaciotti, thus winning the Gold Cup (First Prize awarded for public Referendum) and the Best of Show.

During the award ceremony, the winners were presented by the CEO of Lange William Schmid the exclusive LANGE 1 TIME ZONE "Como Edition". The watch is made with a white gold case, the emblem of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa D'Este engraved by hand on the back and, on the disc indicating the time zones, the central European time represented by Como.

Enthusiastic in admiring the splendid cars exhibited in such suggestive frames, we certainly could not miss a view at the exhibition area set up by A. Lange & Söhne, distinguished by the Giant Watch, a three-meter-high sculpture of the ZEITWERK DATE watch, which this year was one of the protagonists of the SIHH in Geneva.

Craftsmanship, technical excellence and the search for perfection in every detail are some of the similarities that these two worlds have in common, divided only by the different dimensions of their components. What better occasion to be able to admire the Lange novelties?

Ten years after its introduction, Lange has revised its Zeitwerk mechanical digital watch with a newly developed movement that incorporates an additional function: a ring-shaped date window, with printed numbers from 1 to 31 surrounding the dial where the current date is displayed in red (the date display can be adjusted with the corrector at 8 o'clock) and appears perfectly in harmony with the design of the dial, which surrounds the exclusive Zeitwerk Time Bridge.

The new Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon can be included among the masterpieces of this 2019, it ranks among the most complex watches of A. Lange & Söhne, Together with Tourbograph Perpetual Pour le Merite of 2017 and al Triple Splits of last year.

The real gem, in addition to the L952.2m caliber visible thanks to the sapphire crystal on the back, is the solid rose gold dial with a matte, grained surface. This is the first time that Lange has used this color, in tune with the current taste of the salmon dials. A superb combination of unprecedented shades for this ultra-complex Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon.

And here is another timepiece protagonist of this 2019, the new one LANGE 1 EDITION 25TH ANNIVERSARY a limited edition of 250 pieces with numerous updates on the classic version. While the mechanics and general concept remain the same, this special version comes with a new combination of colors and embellishments on the movement and caseback.

Presented in a classic silver finish, the solid silver dial now reveals recessed matte corners and raised edges around the dials and indications.
