Il Chronomètre Contemporain is the first watch in the collection signed by Rexhep Rexhepi, one of the most talented watchmakers in the industry and founder of AkriviA. In terms of design, the watch takes a neoclassical approach and stands out from the brand's main collection. A round case, with a subtly concave bezel and beveled curved lugs, surrounds an enamel dial Grand Feu where the hours, minutes and seconds are shown.

All AkriviA watches are flawless, handcrafted as it was in the old days, elevating the art of watchmaking to the highest level. The young master watchmaker says the starting point for this creation was 40s officer watches reinvented for the 21st century. The watch is, at first glance, underestimated, but beneath its apparent simplicity lies the exceptional craftsmanship.

Available with either a white or black Grand Feu enamel dial (processing a white Grand Feu enamel dial is a difficult process in itself, but producing one in deep black is even more complex).

The distinctive layout incorporates asymmetrical Art Deco-inspired lines in gold or blue, crossing and segmenting Roman numerals in a rhythmic fashion. The dial, signed for the first time with the name of Rexhep Rexhepi and not with the trademark of the AkriviA brand, is completed by meticulously worked gold “polibercé” hands.

The 38 mm case in rose gold or platinum is finished with alternating brushed and polished surfaces. The leather strap is well integrated and offers great comfort on the wrist.

A look through the back reveals the hand-wound caliber RR01 working at 18.000 vibrations per hour, the variable inertia balance wheel features four adjustment screws and the coil spring features a Breguet overlay coating. The symmetrical design of the movement, which has a power reserve of 100 hours, has a first-rate architectural and finish with traditional techniques such as theAnglage and Côtes de Genève.

Although hidden under the dial, the stop and second reset mechanism is exceptional. A small spring comes into contact with the balance wheel, stopping the movement and at the same time, the small second hand is reset (zero reset).

THEAkriviA Chronomètre Contemporain comes with a three-year warranty and can be delivered with a chronometer certificate from the observatory of Besancon on request but with an additional cost. The price is around 55.500 EURO for the rose gold version and 58.000 EURO for the platinum version.
