[: En]The 9th edition of Les Voiles de Saint Barth ended on Saturday 14 April after a fierce and equally spectacular competition between the 53 crews, divided into 7 classes, despite a particular situation, seven months after the devastating passage of cyclone Irma.
Sponsor of the first edition, Richard Mille, reinforces its support for the event by becoming the main partner of the regatta.
“I love being involved in a project from the very beginning,” comments Richard Mille. "We have placed our trust in Les Voiles de Saint Barth since the launch of the project in 2010, even before the race even existed, accompanying its evolution year after year."
The force of the wind, which fluctuated between 15 and 30 knots throughout the week, gave rise to fierce battles between the participants. In the category Maxi Yacht 2 the clash between the two boats raged Aragon e Windfall.
The duel more incredible of the week saw challenge each other Proteus by George Sakellaris e sorcery by Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille Europe, Africa and the Middle East, one of the contenders for Maxi Yacht 1.
A slight advantage finally favored the crew of G. Sakellaris who triumphed in the Richard Mille Maxi Cup for the 3rd consecutive time, receiving the chronograph RM 60-01 Flyback Regatta.
The 10th edition of Les Voiles de Saint Barth will take place from 14 to 20 April 2019.
